A Message About Tariffs from Mimo's CEO

David Anderson |

Spring is a time of change and that's a fitting word for the fluid nature of U.S. trade policy right now. At Mimo, we are committed to maintaining stable pricing and delivering value. The positive news is that most of our products are manufactured in South Korea, one of the lowest tariffs imposed on Asia, and negotiations are ongoing between our nations.

However, for those products produced in China, we are officially in the process of moving the remaining products out of the country. With the 90-day reprieve, we are adding a tariff surcharge, but it is minimal (<10% of the cost).  In a few cases, where product volumes are too low to justify relocation - such as our outdoor products - we have decided to only manage existing inventory for the time being.

On Friday 4/11, the Trump administration initially exempted most of Mimo’s products from the newly expanded reciprocal tariffs on Chinese imports. However, that position shifted over the weekend: On Sunday, the administration announced that affected items — while not currently tariffed — would be moved to a “new bucket” of products that could be subject to tariffs.

Details of this new category and any associated actions are expected to be announced within the next one to two months. We are monitoring this situation closely and working with our trade advisors to ensure compliance and prepare accordingly.

Planning ahead remains difficult, but you can trust that we are doing everything possible to respond swiftly, carefully manage exceptions and - most of all - minimize the impact to Mimo customers. Thanks for your continued patience and understanding as we weather these shifting dynamics.  If you have questions, please contact your Mimo representative directly or reach out via our website
